Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 16, PGE Group, a Polish state-owned energy company, has launched a tender for a significant battery energy storage facility in Gryfino, northwestern Poland, which will be among the country’s largest upon completion, enhancing the national energy infrastructure.

Located near the Dolna Odra Power Plant in Gryfino, owned and operated by PGE Group, the facility will feature a 400 MW power output and a minimum storage capacity of 800 MWh. The project aims to improve energy reliability and facilitate the integration of renewable energy into Poland’s grid.

Weeks prior, PGE Group announced a tender for a battery storage facility with at least 900 MWh capacity near the Żarnowiec Pumped Storage Power Plant, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to expanding energy storage solutions to meet rising energy needs.
