Wedoany.com Report-Dec.22, Recently, automakers Mercedes-Benz and BMW have successively released new electric vehicle models, both targeting the needs of family travel. Both models emphasize the convenience for passengers and cargo access and the practicality of interior space in their design, rather than pursuing an extremely low-slung body profile.
According to market information, the BMW iX3, as the first all-electric model in its "New Class" series, has accumulated a significant number of orders in the European market. Massimiliano Di Silvestro, head of BMW Italy, told the media: "Our order backlog far exceeds expectations. For the European market alone, I can tell you that the order volume almost covers our entire production for 2026." The top version of this model is equipped with a large-capacity battery and dual motors, supporting high-power charging.
Mercedes-Benz has launched the new electric model GLB based on its MMA platform. As an SUV, this vehicle offers a three-row seating option and focuses on improving space performance for rear passengers. Mercedes has downplayed its previous naming strategy of separate electric vehicle sub-brands, naming this car the GLB with EQ technology. The company stated that its aerodynamic design has impacted the range performance, with the single-motor version of the GLB having a slightly lower range compared to sedans on the same platform.
