Eco Wave Power Global AB Advances Wave Energy Project in Su'ao Port, Taiwan, China

en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 25th, The Swedish wave energy company Eco Wave Power Global AB announced new progress in its wave energy project at Su'ao Port in Taiwan, China. Local partners have secured a site land lease agreement, laying the foundation for the project's advancement.

I-Ke International Ocean Energy Co., a subsidiary of Lianda Company, signed a five-year lease agreement with Su'ao Port in December 2025, with an option for renewal, marking the project's entry into the next phase of development. According to the agreement, an application for land use rights transfer must be submitted to Taiwan Ports Corporation by March 22, 2026, and all port work permits are expected to be obtained by October 2026.

This project is part of Eco Wave Power's expansion into the Asia-Pacific market, aiming to demonstrate the application potential of locally manufactured wave energy systems in new markets. Inna Braverman, Founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power, stated: "The signing of the land lease agreement for the Su'ao Port project is a significant milestone in advancing Eco Wave Power's business in the Asia-Pacific market. Taiwan is actively investing in renewable energy solutions, and we are delighted to work with our partner I-Ke to advance this project, demonstrating how wave energy can be integrated into existing port infrastructure to produce clean electricity."

I-Ke previously won the land use rights tender for the Su'ao Port wave energy pilot station in July 2025. The Keelung Branch of Taiwan Ports Corporation allocated 6.75 hectares of test land on the southern outer breakwater, divided into three zones, with I-Ke securing exclusive use rights for Zone C. Eco Wave Power and I-Ke plan to deploy a 100-kilowatt onshore wave energy converter at the site, based on the turnkey agreement signed at the end of 2024. The two companies stated that further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
