en.Wedoany.com Reported - AG&P LNG has agreed to acquire the remaining stake in the Cai Mep LNG Terminal in southern Vietnam, increasing its ownership from 49% to 100%. This transaction will transfer full ownership of the Cai Mep LNG Terminal Company from Hai Linh Co., Ltd. to AG&P LNG, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
The Cai Mep terminal, operational since Q3 2025, is one of only two operational LNG import terminals in Vietnam. With an initial capacity of 3 million tons per annum (MTPA), expandable to 6 MTPA, it is a key import point for supplying LNG to the power and industrial markets in the southern part of the country. Initially developed by Hai Linh, the terminal was completed and commissioned in 2025. It is connected to the nearby Phu My Industrial Zone and has pipeline access to the Phu My Power Complex, which has 3.9 GW of gas-fired power generation capacity. The terminal includes three onshore storage tanks with a total LNG storage capacity of 220,000 cubic meters, bulk cargo reloading capabilities to smaller vessels, and 14 truck loading bays for compressed natural gas (CNG) and LNG distribution.
Peter Gibson, Chairman of Nebula Energy, stated, "Full ownership of the Cai Mep terminal is a defining milestone for AG&P LNG and Vietnam's energy transition. Since our initial investment decision in 2024, the terminal has successfully commenced operations and is now a critical part of southern Vietnam's gas infrastructure. Integrating 100% ownership of the Cai Mep terminal allows us to end-to-end integrate the terminal with our LNG supply, shipping, and downstream distribution platform and deliver reliable, price-competitive LNG to power plants and industries across the country." AG&P LNG is an international developer and operator of LNG import terminals and gas logistics infrastructure.
